COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL COURSES
The College of Business is established to provide an all encompassing educational experience that would develop competent graduates in their respective fields, imbued with Christian values, sense of service and leadership to make them responsive to the manpower needs of commerce, industry & government service.
For administrative purposes, this College is composed of the following programs: Business Administration, Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Office Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and two-year Technical / Vocational courses such as Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Services, and Diploma in Information Technology.
Objectives of the Business Administration Program
- Provide students with general education that will equip them with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude facilitative of developing critical thinking, and job competence.
- Train students to be proficient and skillful in their areas of specialization thereby becoming productive members of the business community and government service.
- Develop in the students attitudes and ideals in harmony with the Christian teachings.
- Provide students exposure that will enhance their learning experiences in their particular field.
- Develop the research skills of the students and provide opportunities that would help them achieve technological advancement, thereby making them globally competitive in terms of employment.
- Produce business executives and entrepreneurs who can lead and actively participate in the local, national and international affairs with integrity & sense of service.
Objectives of the Accountancy Program
- Provide students with general education that will equip them with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude facilitative of developing critical thinking, and job competence.
- Provide the students with appropriate knowledge, skills and proficiency in accounting that would prepare them for service in the various sectors of the society.
- Enhance acquired learning experiences in Accounting through research and exposure in the different enterprises both public and private.
- Instill among the students the sense of leadership in the Accounting profession in full accord with the Christian teachings, desirable Filipino values and vision – mission of the Archdiocese of Cotabato.
- Provide the students with updated facilities and technology that would enhance their learning experiences thereby making them readily prepared and equipped to face the world of work.
- Produce Certified Public Accountants, Business Executives and Entrepreneurs who can effectively cope with the demands of the domestic and global business world and other workplaces.
Objectives of the Accounting Technology Program
- Provide students with general education that will equip them with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude facilitative of developing critical thinking, and job competence.
- Apply business knowledge and technical skills to achieve company needs; utilize critical thinking, creativity, communication, and teamwork, in context with theoretical, legal, and ethical principles.
- Address a variety of issues dealing with business management, and create, analyze, and employ programs that will improve and facilitate business practices and interaction.
- Enable students to demonstrate leadership, communication and collaborative competence; prepare timely reports related to their area of responsibility.
- Enrich the students’ learning experiences in Accounting technology through research and exposure to the industrial establishments and in the government agencies.
- Demonstrate understanding of the value of teamwork and contribute effectively as members of a team and the importance of tolerance in a diverse and multi-cultural work environment as well as their social responsibilities.
- Reinforce and expand the students’ knowledge of accounting theory, practices, and principles.
Objectives of the Office Administration Program
- Provide students with general education that will equip them with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude facilitative of developing critical thinking, and job competence.
- Provide students with a common foundation of knowledge and understanding concerning the modern business through a core program consisting of general education and professional office administration.
- Expose students to actual on-the-job trainings that would enhance their learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.
- Train students to be competent in the secretarial jobs such as clerks, stenographers, typists, computer encoders and other related office works.
- Develop in the students the essence of Catholic education instilling in them the Christian values that will help them lead and serve the community and its environs with integrity.
Objectives of the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program
- Provide students with general education that will equip them with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude facilitative of developing critical thinking, and job competence.
- Integrate a competency-based training methodology to prepare graduates to become globally competitive, professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible contributors to national development.
- Equip future practitioners with essential technical and management skills in the operation of lodging, dining and services industries by providing them with realistic and extensive training,, combining theory and practice under international standards.
- Gain skills in areas such as front desk procedures, managing food and beverage operations, budgeting, marketing and promotions and convention management.
- Provide intellectual growth, communication skills, ethical awareness, appreciation of values and society and professional knowledge of hospitality industry.
- Develop potential hoteliers and entrepreneurs who are equipped with the latest technical and managerial skills geared towards maximum utilization of e-commerce application software in hotel and related institution operations.
- Enable students to develop the cultural sensitivity, ethical responsibility, and social consciousness needed to become upright citizens of the Philippines and the world.
Objectives of the Technical/Vocational Programs
- Provide students with general education that will equip them with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude facilitative of developing critical thinking, and job competence.
- Develop in the students strong moral character and internalization of Christian values in preparation for their practice and active involvement in community affairs.
- Equip the students with technical and vocational skills relevant to the emerging needs of the global community making them competent and competitive workers.
- Expose them to the different enterprises and industries that will enhance their learning experiences.
- Instill the positive attitude towards work and the value of the dignity of labor.
- Provide the students with updated facilities and technology for the development of their respective skills.
